An orange sunset over the sea, seen from the deck of a boat

Sunset cruise in Hammamet

The last hour of the day, with the engine switched off, facing the coastline as it comes to life.

The best part of the day at sea

Ask any sailor in the harbour: the best time to sail in the gulf is the last hour of the day. The wind drops, the heat subsides, and the low-angled light casts a hue upon the medina's ramparts that you won't see at any other time of day.

This outing is available on a private hire basis only. It's the favourite option for couples, but it also works very well for families or groups of friends, with your drinks kept cool in the cool box.

How's the outing going?

Boarding takes place an hour and a half before sunset; the exact time therefore varies depending on the season, and we will confirm it with you the day before. We leave the harbour at a leisurely pace, heading north-west to position ourselves opposite the old town, where the sun sets behind the hills.

With the engine off, the boat drifts gently. Now's the time to get the drinks out, put on some music if you fancy it, or just do nothing at all. An evening swim is possible in summer, as the water is often at its warmest at this time of day. We head back at night, following the lights along the coast to the harbour lighthouse.

Duration : 2 hours · Meeting point : Port de plaisance Yasmine Hammamet, ponton C

Frequently asked questions

What time exactly are we leaving?

It depends on the date: the sun sets at around 7.30 pm in June and around 5.30 pm in October. We'll give you the exact boarding time when you book, and then reconfirm it the day before.

Can you plan a marriage proposal?

Yes, and this isn't the first time. Just let us know by emailing WhatsApp when you book: we'll prepare the boat discreetly and the skipper will switch off the engine in the right place, at the right time. A photographer can come on board as an optional extra.

Will it be cold when we get back?

Not in the height of summer. At the start and end of the season, make sure you bring a windbreaker or a light jumper: once the sun has set, you'll soon feel the breeze off the water.

Can we bring champagne or wine?

Yes, that's what the cool box is for. Just do let us know so we can provide suitable glasses, as glass is not allowed on deck.
